I've read that one and The Long Emergancy, Twilight in the Desert and a few others.

People don't realize that oil is different from everything else in the world economy. There are no subsitutes. I mean if there is a mad cow scare, we can eat chicken. If oil goes, at the moment, we are all screwed.
