I personally think (actually, know) that ambient superconductors are around the corner within 10 years and indeed will be a disruptive technology

After a quick google search, I found a website that explains the inherent advantages of ambient superconductors in terms that I can understand.

A superconductor application I wrote 10 yrs. ago for multilayer ceramic substrate. Neat idea. Had to take it through appeal. No idea if it was ever commercialized.
