LG, i applaud you for making a stand on this issue.
1. When i first started posting on one of the ihub board, i was approached by one of the "guru" via PM about possibly making a $50K investment in a company of which the guru is one of the directors...While this guru was not overtly selling his services, he's using his influence & popularity (due in no small part to his success in daytrading) to solicit investment dollars for his venture. Should board readers be warned about this?
2. May be it's due to my professional skepticism (i am a cpa), I seriously question some of the "real-time trades" posted by some of the gurus...i think the edit key, which allows you 20 mins to post or change your post (i've seen some make changes to his previous posts after the fact), really gives the readers a false impression that some gurus are posting real time trade...i think if ihub can do away with the edit feature, it would cut down the # of "real time" trade posted but at least the readers are more certain that they are indeed real time..let's face it, if someone consistently have 80% -90% winning trade every day whether the mkt is moving up, down, or sideway; whether he guesses it right or wrong about mkt directions, whether it's pre-mkt, during mkt, or after mkt, one should be skeptical...i know i am not the only one who expresses skepticism
3. like most people, i read these message boards because i truly believe i get some useful info from some of you who have
so selflessly share your knowledge with those of us who are less knowledgable....thank you
regards
