I always wondered if many employees fund their 401Ks solely with shares in their employer. Anyone know? Back 20 years ago you heard stories of long time Enron employees doing that, especially when CEO Kenneth Lay was pumping the stock... while selling his own.
Do some firms match stock purchase but only in their own shares?
My one son works for a large corp (not unlike GE) and he's funded his 401K mostly with index funds. He does get some shares in his employer but not many.
What Grace Groner did-- putting everything including dividends in Abbott -- was extremely dangerous. Or perhaps she was really insider trading, which was probably somewhat legal in 1935 right after the start of the SEC.
Grace Groner was a secretary... perhaps the one who typed all the SEC communications. LOLOL
