why should we care what happens to FHFA - their death would only mean their disappearance AFTER we have our capital ?

FHFA is regulator and consevator. As regulator they are not going away. The agencies are government sponsored, congress can pull their charters when they want or set regulations. Congress is the ultimate board of directors. Congress created FHFA as regulator.
