250 B barrels is a far cry from not present in Israel.
Except it doesn't exist as conventional oil. That's a guesstimate based on Oil Shale.
I don't care if you call if pure oil, oil shale or shale oil.
Unfortunately in this world, if Israel has the choice of purchasing Brent oil on the open market at $50+/bbl, or subsidizing Kerogen conversion into usable light oil at a cost of greater than $100+/bbl. Guess which one they are going to choose!!! It really isn't that complicated to understand. It's called economics.
This is why they desperately need oil so they can keep their economy and military going without dependence on other nations
Israel already has NG it can sell on the open market. Using the revenue to buy oil on the open market. Israel has multiple sources to buy oil from with their NG money. Cost wise Israel is already energy independent.
And guess what... it isn't too far fetched to believe where there is offshore NG in abundance, some future drilling could also discover oil. Where ZN will never be able to afford an offshore lease.
Numbers 23, they will be "alone" in the world and their leader know this time is coming soon
