If soft lock means locking all the data for those who have evented and who have no more data to collect, and leaving the part of the data unlocked where the participants are still alive, I could see it going to November or whenever the remaining cohorts reach 5 years (or event).
You would satisfy the desire to have a full five year study, and would get a great look at 99% of the trial, if looking is allowed....
