Are there really still that many bigots afraid of Black America who could tilt the vote to Trump?
You never know. There may be. Perhaps not hardcore bigots, but people who fear violence might make its way to their neighborhoods. And while the "real" protesters are peaceable, the agitators and opportunistic looters are not. That worries a lot of people.
But I think George is right; the demonstrations will die down, once the funeral is over, and the other officers have been charged. And once covid dies down enough for more people to return to work.
