I am betting against a resignation speech.

I'd agree with you about that bet, alas. Seems he's pushed it back another ten minutes or so. My guess would be his feelings are hurt by reports that over the weekend his advisers succeeded in talking him out of making a statement about the protests.

Maybe he's late because they're still trying to do that. We'll eventually find out.

Now Trumpty's begun, and is going on about "professional anarchists." In my view that is an oxymoron. He should say "professional agitators", if he has to say anything.

Naturally he hasn't mentioned white supremacists.

And now he's going on about "ending lawlessness" RIGHT NOW. Saying cities and states must "establish an overwhelming law enforcement presence", and if they don't, he'll take care of that himself. By sending out "heavily armed soldiers".

Oh yeah, that's gonna work.

He’s saying “America is founded on the rule of law”. He doesn’t seem to realize that doesn’t mean cops or soldiers. It mean THE LAW.

And so he buggered off, saying he was going to "pay [his] respects to a very special place". Huh?
