Depends on whether CATL used any Tesla IP (Dahn et al) or used their own IP. In the latter case, those won't be million mile batteries but doesn't matter as long as they are as good as current generation chemistry. RE price cuts to qualify for subsidies, only the the most basic model and it will still take market share from bmw and daimler, AND makes it even harder for others that want an entry into low end luxury EV sedans.
