NYC is screwing the pooch and it could have huge negative consequences:
750,000 doses of chloroquine, 70,000 doses of hydroxychloroquine and 10,000 doses of Zithromax were acquired by New York state for the trial.
Hydroxychloroquine is much less toxic than chloroquine, has been shown to be more effective in vitro, the French study NYC apparently is trying to replicate used hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin, but they're primarily going to be testing just chloroquine - how can you not recognize the synergy of the combo vs. the single drug regimen? This trial could easily fail because they're using the wrong drug, and only one - the successful Australian study also used a combo drug regimen - why the hell are they not giving all patients Z-packs!?! IMO this is exactly the kind of trial the FDA was trying to (rightfully) prevent because it's not well designed.
