The question is not about safety--it is about encouraging more illegal migrants to enter the country and go to a sancturary.
IF the entire nation enforced the laws, there would be less illegal migrants because it would not be just getting across the border an getting to a sanctuary city.
Sanctuary cities undercuts laws.
And if you are for sanctuary cities --you are really being inllectually dishonest to say that you support border control.
