Thanks PG for your answer. Must be millions of dollars in operating savings. Good enough for me. To put this in context at the end of 2018 we had 500 hyperscale data centers, they consumed 416 Terrawatts ( 1 T = 1.000.000.000 kilowatts). That was about 3% of worldwide energy consumption, latest estimates are around 5/6 % today and with data increasing with 75% per year, rising alarmingly fast.

Great Presentation and I actually understood 98% of it but I did get a bit confused on the Coherent and non-coherent slide.

Perhaps Photonics_Guy can break it down for us?

as for the 1 volt comment someone made about SI, that was 1 volt at 25gig apples and oranges.

I would love to know the current R33 number, that is key.
