Wbmw, Glad to see you speak up for EP's position in this matter. Clearly not a bribe (HP deal to Sun customers). I don't like the inflamatory rhetoric.

I am sorry that I must be too excited about the whole 'bribing' thing. borusa, if INTC decides to offer $200 per higher end Xeon chip as an incentive to counter Opteron, definitely 'bribing' is a too strong word. As it's not bribing, it is perfectly normal business practicing.

I am fine with whatever the definition everyone is giving to the HP deal to Sun customers. :-)

You may be right. Or it may be that both Xeon and Opteron are in Sun's future. They can't exactly put all their money on one horse here, if that horse has not yet established itself as a player in this market.

The only thing I don't see is Sun adopting Itanium. At least, not unless McNealy leaves the company.
