They saw a 45% RRR in patients who took their BP meds at night vs in the morning.


That's pretty incredible. It makes you wonder how many other simple things we overlook as possibilities while everyone is trying to outclever everyone else...

Thanks for the information AVII. Glad that the placebo group in R-I didn't take their BP meds at bedtime!

Appreciate the info, as I take two BP meds now, one in the morning and one at dinner. I will be taking both at bedtime now and will hand this study to my GP at our next meeting.

Also I found it interesting that bedtime treatment with BP meds (instead of upon waking) improved for the better (although the effect was quite small but significant) some cholesterol markers like HDL and LDL.

AVII, makes sense. Years ago, I learned that most heart attacks happen before 6 am.

Yes thanks for bring this up. I started to take my BP medication at night years ago. My reasoning was, because I read most heart attacks occur in the very early morning period.

Not sure if this is accurate. But any feed backup when the majority of attacks occur would be nice. If you have the statistics available.
