#243140 RE: Retiredceo #243133

The conversations around Vascepa not being affordable and people not filling their scripts has little or nothing to do with Amarin’s pricing. As stated by ICER and others here, it’s very reasonably priced and cost effective as well as being much less expensive than other drugs brought to market for the treatment of the #1 killer and debilitating disease in America. The problem with affordability lies with the greedy insurance companies that haven’t reduced the tier for Vascepa to match its CVD label, it’s uniqueness and the fact that there is no equivalent substitute available. Until they change the tier, and they will eventually, it will continue to be a hindrance to scripts growth.
