OT--Roger that. I have always thought that his solo on the song Havona from Heavy Weather may be perhaps the greatest solo on ANY instrument EVER. His technique was beyond belief but the musical brain that created that was from another planet. I was and am a frustrated bass player but the amount I learned from him just trying to play along with the easier stuff changed my musical life completely. I think Steve Rodby (a musical genius too) said that once he heard Jaco he knew he had to strike out in his own direction or quit the biz, JP was that BIG.
