Correct Rx Pharmacy Named Small Business of the Year Linthicum, MD – Correct Rx Pharmacy Services, Inc. was named Small Business of The Year (51 to 200 employees) by the Maryland Chamber of Commerce at its June 16 awards event. The award recognizes the dedication, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit of small businesses in Maryland.
Led by its founder, President and CEO Ellen Yankellow, Correct Rx is a full-service institutional pharmacy serving correctional and senior care markets since 2003. While owned and operated in Linthicum, Md., Correct Rx provides pharmacy services to more than 100 correctional facilities in 23 states, including Maryland. In 2005, Correct Rx sales increased 67 percent compared to the past year figures. Moreover, the company’s gross profits increased 162 percent during that time. Beyond financial growth, Correct Rx also increased in staff size, from 12 employees to 75 employees in just three years. Correct Rx was recognized by Baltimore Smart CEO magazine as one of Baltimore’s Future 50 Corporations for two consecutive years. The company also was identified as the fourth largest woman-owned business in Maryland in 2005 by the Baltimore Business Journal.
