Hi larry I enjoy your posts, as far as EPA for respiratory conditions, it should be noted that the majority of the respiratory conditions, including asthma and COPD have an inflammatory root in the pathophysiology. Most of the medications that we use are anti-inflammatory medications ,with the Hallmark being steroids, other meds are leukotriene blockers, older medications such as theophyllines ,and new Biologics. Again they all affect some sort of inflammatory pathways. There are Multiple reports in the literature about use of omega-3‘s and asthma and other respiratory conditions. I have tried to use vascepa on some of my respiratory patients but it has always been a challenge due to poor coverage and cost. Because of that don’t have any the specific opinions based on my own personal experience. However I would imagine that in one way or another it would benefit the patients to some degree .How it would fit in today’s variety of available medications that we have I don’t know, I guess we will need that reduce the type of study for sure to convince the medical community. I’m sorry that I’m pressed for time and can’t elaborate any further back to patient care!
