Levon Helm died of lung cancer. Smoked like a house a fire. He was the sole American and gave the band it's rockabilly-Americana sound. Surprisingly, the other four were from Canada. Yet such an "American" sound.
Life on the road ate them up
But on a happy note, we are gifted with their music.
The Band was damn good. Scorsese is something I have learned to not like. I don't know if he's lost or I have tired of him, but h hasn't been on my list of movie musts.
