Figures. Scorsese contributed to the schism in The Band by highlighting showboating Robbie Robinson in the "last Waltz" as kinda the main guy when in fact Robinson's voice was so lacking, his bandmates would unplugged his mike.
Rick Danko, Levon Helms and Richard Manual were outstanding singers.
Robinson wrote most all the songs so he got the lions share of the money, unlike say U2 who agreed from the get-go all monies would be split equally.
Garth Hudson recently had to appeal for donations so he could get his stuff out of a storage locker.
I boycotted the recent movie about the band. I think it was Scorsese again.They called it Robbie Robinson and the Band, trying to rewrite history. It was The Band- period.
Every day puff pieces about Robinson come on my google feed. I ignore them. He trying to rewrite history and rehabilitate his reputation.
Shame, they were super but drugs, alcohol and Robinson's selfishness doomed them.
