What I am intrigued by are the number of posters on both Stocktwits and here that are now saying they think a takeover price of at least $50 is likely. If anyone would have said that when the share price was under $3.00 the board would call them insane. Today, $50 is an amount given by some of the most credible posters. Years ago I thought AMRN would be acquired for around $18-$28 a share...it did not happen.
Some months ago I asked a poster who quit posting on this board long ago (Ajax 133) what he believed AMRN would go for in a takeout... he wrote $30 billion. That would be about $72 a share...not exactly an insignificant amount. I hope in time he is proven right. For now it is fun to speculate on...especially on days when the share price hits new multi-year highs.
If most investors "believe" a takeout of AMRN would bring $50-$74... they may be more willing to hold at the recent price level for an eventual 100%-200% potential gain, whether justified or not.
