My best Dr Bala, it looks like you'll be safe this time. Where I'm living in Westchester we don't have that much natural vegetation to burn, but many of my friends have been affected by recent fires and while none had their homes burn, some were close enough to be painted with the phosgene dropped from the aircraft causing a nasty clean up. Hopefully none of this gets close to you. They say this wind event should be over this afternoon, if that's a fact I suspect they'll gain control rapid control of the fire.
Southern California is a great place to live, but we do have our problems. I've yet to have real damage done by an earthquake, but I know others who've had extensive damage. It's all part of what we live with to live here.
