Richard, that is correct, LWLG has CHOSEN to pursue the 10Km and greater as its entry point because that has the greatest UNMET NEED, howver, LWLG has told investors it can compete as well at shorter distances, here from the Technical FAQ's, and also in other presentations this has been a covered topic

Why are you targeting the 10 km and beyond market?

We believe that while our single mode modulator solutions will be competitive at 500 m to 10 km link distances, they will be ideally suited at greater than 10 km link distances. Between datacenter buildings, there is an increasing need for high performance interconnects over 10 km in reach. 5G mobile upgrade, autonomous driving and IoT are expected to increase the need for data stored and processed close to the end user in edge data centers. This application similarly requires optics capable of very high speeds and greater than 10 km reach

Yes. It is a very big deal. So big, that I bought more shares when it was clear it was possible.

I can only think that the fact LWLG’s modulators can serve both the coherent and direct detect markets must be covered under NDA or something of that nature. For whatever reason, they are intentionally flying below the radar level on this topic.

Interestingly, about this timeframe, LWLG began emphasizing the >10km markets instead of data centers. This totally makes sense to me with the extremely efficient use of spectrum coherent modulation enables.
