That wood B a great app (grin), butt I don't have a smartphone.

I gno from the epidemiological studies in re: Iceland and Scandihoovia that smoked fish is known to be a significant cause of stomach cancer, butt I growed up on smoked whitefish (from the Great Lakes). We had smoked whitefish in purty much (TM-OrthoBuddy) every grocery store and meat shop and as a kidd I loved the stuph and it was very cheap. So I wood axe Mom to gett some or I'd throw some in the shopping cart.

Later in life, I discovered the smoked sable. And despite the risk of eating smoked fish and the cost of smoked sable, I buy it anyway - and the cheaper smoked whitefish too, when I'm in an area that has good quality smoked fish.

Smoked sable is quite 'spensive, butt it is one of the few luxuries that I am happy to splurge on. I introduced DaSquaw and DaMomInLaw to smoked sable and now when I'm here I must take a trip to make a haul for the tribe and an aliquot for me to take home to NorCal (DaSun isn't much of a fish fan other than salmon, witch he loves, and fish & chips UK-style).

Seems that on the Wess Coass, the black cod is used mostly in sushi. I don't see smoked sable very often in the delis in NorCal. I'm shure some delis in DaCity have smoked sable, butt I try to minimize my time in DaCity and don't shopp the delis there (which is too bad, as one is supposed to have the best pastrami west of NYC). There are a cuppla delis in LA where I can gett it, butt honestly the stuph from NYC and Chicago is better, IMO. The place I gett it from the Hunnert Mile City from DaMomInLaw's place getts their supply from Chicago, so it's Chicago quality and worth the $$$$$ in my opinion. And they have the cheap(er) smoked whitefish too.

I still haven't found a place that matches NYC-quality deli cheesecake. I am nott a cheesecake fan to the extent that DaSquaw is, butt I do like blueberry-topped NYC cheesecake.

I plan to send you an email this weak, so Czech that e-addy in-box later in DaWeak. I'll try to attach some smoked sable and lox, mebbe a bagel and schmear too.
