Well my point is I don't believe he deserves #1 starter money. There is no doubt he is a good pitcher but I just do not believe he deserves #1 cash. I think Pavano will pitch this year, number one he is running out of body parts to hurt and number 2 he only has 2 more years on his deal and needs to show he is healed, One year will not prove that. So he will come to camp I believe in top shape. Now, weather he does good will be a different story. I hope he does but I really think he knows he is going to not get a good offer for only pitching 1.2 years out of a 4 year deal

Mulder got hurt. Hudson has been injured on and off if I remember correctly. Zito has never been hurt. He starts his 35 games every year. He is durable, he doesn't throw real hard either, so he might not get hurt. He is still relatively young, and in my opinion, if the red sox throw 51 million at Mats just to negotiate. Then Zito is worth 6/90 Million. We know Zito can pitch. Zito is a number 1 in my opinion and if he pitches for the Mets I think he will win at least one cy young in the next 5 years. Just my opinion though.
