This is a strange year for free agents. There is some big money being tossed around and some big figures. Lilly is asking for 9 million a year. Thats right, Ted Lilly!! Yankees are expected to make him a offer which is lower than that figure. There is some midlevel talent that is getting some good bucks and the ones who are above average are getting or are going to get big bucks. Yankees probably will offer Lilly about 7 million There is no way he is worth 9 million
The Soriano signing for that much money isn't that big of a shock. Zito is a very good pitcher, He would be behind Wang on the Yankees chart. I don't think he deserves #1 money. I think he is a # 1 on some teams and a #2 on some other teams.
