Sorry, but your spin is what is intellectually dishonest.

Nothing in isolation. Trump had a long train of racist remarks and behavior before his Charlottesville display of moral imbecility.

His comments about Confederate monuments were afterthoughts and clearly inauthentic.

“It was not only morally ambiguous, it was equivocating,” then-House Speaker Paul Ryan, a Republican, said at a CNN Town Hall, adding that Trump's comments were "wrong."

He also said their were "fine people on both sides"--meaning that there were fine people on both sides of the issue of removing or keeping the Robert E. Lee statue.

How many damn times do you have to be told this?????

The rally was never about Robert E Lee and Lee himself never wanted any statues built after the war. He wanted the country to heal.

Robert E. Lee opposed Confederate monuments

“I think it wiser,” the retired military leader wrote about a proposed Gettysburg memorial in 1869, “…not to keep open the sores of war but to follow the examples of those nations who endeavored to obliterate the marks of civil strife, to commit to oblivion the feelings engendered.”

And the Unite the Right hate fest....

was explicitly organized and branded as a far-right, racist, and white supremacist event by far-right racist white supremacists. This was clear for months before the march actually occurred. So by casting the rally instead as a sort of spontaneous outpouring from Confederate statue enthusiasts, Trump is rewriting history.

Jews will not replace us was their rallying cry. Why don't you point out the very fine people marching in this video if you can.
