Here's a thought.

If you base your statistics on criminal convictions then we are the best at putting the corrupt politicians in jail.....

A spot in which I think the the GOP extremely lacks. They're more busy trying to get back to Feudalism than to ever accept that someone is above the law.

And yet the IL GDP chugs right along, fueled mostly by the productivity in the NE portion of the State.

When the graduated State income taxe arrives you will thank N. IL for repair of your roads, bridges, outhouses, henhouses, warehouses and just about everything else encompassed in inspector Gerard's hard target search radius in your part of the State. LOL!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Illinois

The 2018 total gross state product for Illinois was $857 billion, placing it fifth in the nation. The 2015 median household income was $59,588.[10] In 2016, the nine counties of the Chicago metropolitan area accounted for 77.3% of the state's total wages, with the remaining 93 counties at 22.7%.[11]

Yeah, just how much are you going to be able to fix if JUST your tax revenue is redistributed to you? Jack shit, that's how much.

The state's industrial outputs include machinery, food processing, electrical equipment, chemical products, publishing, fabricated metal products and transportation equipment. Corn and soybeans are important agricultural products. Service industries of note are financial trading, higher education, logistics, and medicine.
