Yea that's the way life works, sometimes shit happens in weird ways that make seem like one thing, but is actually another.
Like a solar eclipse. If it happened one day, you seem like the type to run screaming saying the world is over. Appears to be one thing, is actually another.
However their is always the chance that solar eclipse destroys the world.
So not saying you are wrong, I'm saying keeping an open mind allows you to have more choices usually.
