I do not know what you mean by me being optimistic wrt Avistin.
It certainly has been a commercial success. Entered clinic trials in 2004 (3 years after DCVax-L) and since then has raked in something like $50B (that is a wag, it was over $7B last year though).
I am not overly impressed with Avistin's results. It almost always comes in with PFS but is generally marginal on OS. Perhaps the results in macular degeneration are good, but I do not know anything about that.
I would also presume it will now be on a downward slide wrt sales numbers. Competition from biosimilars (generics), next gen VGEF agents and of course immunos.
