Candians posted on here that they were buying stock through US brokers. Once again if they want to buy this stock they will find a broker it is just that simple.

And it isn't "just that simple". Back in the late 90s, it was common for US citizens (or residents) to have accounts with Canadian brokers, and vice versa. But all that began to change in the early 2000s. As anti-money laundering laws were tightened, it became harder and harder for people to have cross-border accounts.
Nowadays, it can be difficult even for U.S. expatriates to maintain their U.S. brokerages accounts in some circumstances.
