i agree the shorting has gotten out of hand but its been like this for years and nothing is going to change. its not illegal to short stocks but it is illegal to manipulate the price which is what MMs do, they have a lot of buying power and target low float stocks that are easily manipulated, they inflate the price, then pay people to promote and pump the stock (email chains, board posts on ihub and other chat rooms) then dump it and short it, this is how their scam works. I am shocked the SEC allows it but then again the OTC is the wild wild west, there is a group of MMs that are investing big money in the billions/trillions of dollars into penny stocks to basically rip off the newbie investors that dont know any better
