does "quicker' mean more shares sold per day week month year times the factor of the split...or alot gobbled up (quickly) in the first 30-60 days ( on the cheap by retail that are now in 75% weak hands in the event of a downturn or severe short attack). A 2:1 stock split requires twice as many shares to be sold to move the SP a penny as you know. If "quicker" means more total shares sold over time and the company is outperforming better than the 2:1 then IMO the split in hindsight would have been advantageous to that point in time.

stockown...this enigma has been bantered about forever with no REAL GOOD answer that I know of. Lottsa shares takes lottsa profit to meet the streets profit estimates (which are written in stone and is a stake in the heart if you fail). The companies that split their stock may become winners in the final tally but....IMO, question is 'would they have done better for the shareholders had they not'.... all the best to you and this board
