If I understand Bio correctly Progesterone, which was also in those first pills in large quantities, is a potent S1R Antagonist affecting the balance of endogenous S1R agonist ligand action thereby drowning out the natural 'fire trunk'.

That being the case some administered S1R Agonist e.g. A2-73 may help rescue the balance.
