I have a lot of confidence that over the years of trial and error along with research that these professionals know exactly what they are doing.....but then on the other hand I am sure you are more of a professional with raising shrimp in a controlled environment then that are.
That’s not the concept they are trying to prove...various density’s and start times have nothing to do with the patented process. They went with a profitable density based on industry standards expecting ‘some’ mortality but surprise, surprise there was no mortality and they had add a few weeks to the growth cycle. They hit a grand slam on the first cycle. Now they can either lower the starting density to achieve a desired harvest date or cull smaller ‘popcorn’ shrimp along the way to add another product to wholesalers. Question is what is the most profitable approach...I’m sure they know :-). IMHO
