I registered as No Party Preference so that I could vote in the republican primaries. I got the distinct pleasure of voting for the opponents of anyone who even remotely aligned themselves with the Dumpster Fire this year, then voting for their dem opponents in the general also. Now there is a top-two system so being dem or republican has no consequence as one can vote for either in the primary.
The biggest disappointment was Feinstein... the republican sacrificial lamb running for her seat came in third in the primary, so in the general election there was only the choice between her and another democrat. She and the other democrat didn't even have to run against a republican in the general.
