Oh really? The pathetic performance was from Acosta.
It's not his job to stand up there and editorialize and debate the president. It's not his personal platform. He is supposed to be a journalist and ask objective questions and record the response.
He thinks he gets to ask as many questions as he wants and rebut all responses. He's wrong. The President called on him to ask a question, and Acosta thinks he gets to physically shield the mic from the intern doing her job. Acosta personally framed and asked a question, and the Pres answered. He didn't like it....to bad!
He did nothing of the kind.
I don't know how in the world you can make such a claim.
Was it an assault? No, hardly that. But you can not say he did not initiate physical contact by first creating a barrier with his arm and the back of his hand inches from her face as she approached to retrieve the mic.
Then as she grabbed the mic with her left hand, Acosta, with force, brought his left hand down and struck (lightly) her arm down as to PHYSICALLY stop her.
Acosta is not entitled to five questions, and does not get to use force to retain the mic until he sees fit.
