That's the point. The company is telling the truth.
At any location on the Earth, if you drill down into the triassic you are drilling through 200 million years of history. The odds that a lake full of algae or dense forest did not exist in any location over that span would be incredibly small. The likelihood is that many such ecosystems did exist at that location over that time span.
It would actually be a surprise if they had not encountered some degree of oil/gas/hydrocarbons drilling that hole.
