On 9/12/01 the Government contacted the Bechtel Corp and asked them to send their 5 best construction experts to NY to help with demolition planning. They flew into Chicago and on to NY on an Exec Jet.,
A very good friend of mine, Terry, was one of the five. At the time he was the construction manager at the Athabasca Tar Sands Project. I knew that he had extensive experience in using thermite. I asked him if he saw any evidence of it's use. He said he wasn't looking for it, but it would have stood out like a sore thumb. He said a 14"member that had been cut with thermite would look like a 2' dia silver mushroom.
