I think legal status is reasonable. But a clear path to citizenship for illegal immigrants is unfair to law abiding
"legal" immigration applicants.
Donald Trump offered a path for "Dreamers". He offered three times more than what Schumer was asking for.

Susie, the problem is that you would assume what you said is true--"I think all voters are for legal immigration and control of the borders. ".

Most Democrats are NOT for just legal immigration--they support illegal immigration. And they certainly do NOT want control of the borders.
