I'll not minimize the wrongs that were done to American Indians, nor will I engage in self flagellation because of it.
Show me an Indian that says he'd rather be eating buffalo, deer, rabbits and ground hogs. Would really dig living in teepees and hogans . says he'd prefer to be dreading the next raid by a bigger meaner tribe. A tribe that will rape their women before they carry them off to slavery, brain their babies, and slaughter everyone they can lay hands on.
Show that Indian and I'll show you a liar or a blithering idiot. The Blacks that don't think this is the greatest Country on Earth should go to a Country where they think they would be better off. That is if they can find a Country that will take them.
NOTE: That isn't a blanket condemnation of American Blacks. There are plenty of productive American Blacks. But I don't think many of them want to leave America in search of a better place. The ones that might want to leave would probably have a hard time finding a place that would take them. But boy, do I ever wish them luck!
As for America's greatness. As far as I know, America is the first Country on Earth that defeated the strongest Country on Earth and formed Republic, governed by The People.
What America did ignited revolutions in France and across the Western Hemisphere. The idea of Freedom from Imperialist Countries spread to Africa and Asia.
America fought a bloody civil war. The results of that war includ freeing the slaves.
In WW I there was a stalemate, with the outcome in doubt until America entered it.
I won't go into what America did for the World, before and after WW II.
Along the way American innovation changed how everyone on the Planet lives, for the better.
I have a theory on what made America Great. First if all we based ourselves on British Law. Compare the US and Canada to the Western Hemisphere Countries that were based on Spanish and Portuguese law.
Next, when the great European migration to America started, most of the people that came were the & hard working. I don't know if there was a class of people that were labeled "entrepreneurs, but by Golly we got a bunch of that type!
The lazy, unambitious and the indolent rich stayed home---and became the founders of the European Union
Sherm, I don't care if you try to pick what I've said apart. But I'll challenge you to name a Country that has had the positive affect, on the World, that America has.
