I would recommend that people with wells have reverse osmosis filtration for their drinking water.

For the rest of the water, a softener/Filtration system where the water is filterd down to 20-30 Microns. Then put a couple of cartridge filters on the main line right after filtering the water down to 5 microns. We have 10 and 5 micron cartridges. The cartridges are inexpensive, and only need to be replaced about every six months.

This will take care of any of the bacterial problems plus a lot more.

"Take a shower in a well house. Feels like you are getting rained on, unless a pressure-increasing system has been installed."

That's insane. I have plenty of water pressure. I have a standard 1/2 hp well pump and my well produces 7 gallons of fresh water per minute. I'm sort of blessed in that respect... but it's far more than I need.

I don't understand the issue of pressure. My well pump fills a pressurized tank. When I draw water the, pressure falls... The pump is controlled by a limit switch that kicks it on when the pressure falls below a certain level and cuts it out when it climbs to a certain level. This is not rocket science. It isn't special. It's how stuff works.

Dug wells that are replenished by surface water are prone to contamination, Artesian wells are considerably safer. My Artesian well is drilled to a depth of 460 feet. Except for some trace minerals, the water is much cleaner then most municipal sources, or perhaps, all.
