I shop at the stores here in Vegas and as far as customers and business goes that Western store they are selling was the turd of the group. I think they picked that spot because they thought they would be delivering marijuana to the strip but later they outlawed that. But you believe they could have sold it for more?
If one looks at the deficit in 2014 and now in 2018 and take the time to research the S G & A for each quarter inbetween.....it will be very clear they gave away Western Ave IMHO.
since you're a noobie to the trtc board you might not be aware that the State of Nevada just recently approved the regulations governing the marijuana business's. At the end of February, I believe. You might want to double check in the links below. There were big concerns right up until the regs were signed has to exactly what type of cultivation facility will be allowed. The decision to hold off on construction due to the regs not being finalized and in question was a good move by trtc / DP. It really shows that they are looking out for shareholders.
The NV regulations have FINALLY been approved!!!
"The state’s Legislative Commission voted unanimously to approve the 258-page regulations without formal debate."
"...criticism brought up at the Legislative Commission meeting came from people who have licenses for marijuana cultivation or production, but not the more limited and lucrative storefront dispensary licenses that one commenter said are sold for $10 million a pop. They are concerned that the system laid out in the regulations as a way to distribute additional dispensary licenses in the future favors established, vertically integrated companies that already have retail stores..."
As seen in the links above it wasn't clear by no means has to the type of cultivation structure that would be allowed and what wouldn't. trtc made the smart play, voiced their opinions and followed the law. Great Job by the trtc crew looking out for shareholders by having the foresight to look before they leap.
