Trump’s catch-and-detain policy snares many who have long called U.S. home

Border-crossers aren't the only targets. Thousands of illegal immigrants with deep roots in their adopted communities are being
locked up and separated from their families. And as Morena Vasquez’s experience shows, the impact can be devastating.

of course, the idea that ankle bracelet monitoring costs about 10% as much as incarceration, and that is if there is not a child involved. Kids cost even more. But your talking point is what your corrupt leaders want, as many have been or are invested in privatized prisons, where every person put away goes right to the bottom line of a corp. Sessions made money off incarceration rates, and you want to pretend that isn't a factor?

mr40, again wrong. Not showing up is simply a pro-Trump talking point used to defend a fear based rascist white-U.S.A. policy.

Instead of keeping children in detention centers with their parents, families in certain cities were released and monitored by social workers, who helped them find lawyers, housing, and transportation, and made sure they attended their court hearings…The contractor that ran the program said that 99 percent of participants .. https://www.voanews.com/a/ice-shutters-detention-alternative-asylum-seekers/3893854.html .. “successfully attended their court appearances and ICE check-ins.” That included the 15 families who were ultimately deported.
