He has been invited to the WH, he has not been ignored and it doesn't matter what color his skin is. Heroes come in all colors.

James Shaw Jr., hero from Waffle House shooting, honored during Nashville Predators' game.

As the Predators looked to even their second-round playoff series against the Winnipeg Jets, they took a moment to honor the hero from the recent Waffle House shooting.

James Shaw Jr. was in attendance at Bridgestone Arena for Sunday's Game 2, much to the excitement of Nashville fans.

Shaw, who wrestled a gun away from a shooter at an Antioch Waffle House on April 22, was recognized during a stoppage of play midway through the first period.

Wearing a Mike Fisher jersey, Shaw received a thunderous ovation from the crowd that lasted 15 seconds. He waved and high-fived a couple fans sitting around him.

James Shaw Jr. opened a GoFundMe account for the victims of the shooting.

One of my best friends back in HS was an African American who became a member of my circle of friends. We all hung out together and we didn't see the color of her skin, she was one of us.

He may be the most honest guy in America right now. I think it’s great that he is honest enough to admit he was just trying to save himself in stopping the shooting
