AMD has already announced they will convert fab 30 into a new 300mm factory. I also think they mentioned output in Q4 2007 for the converted factory. My understanding is that much of the original fab 30 design was done taking into account this later conversion, which is why we see the much faster conversion schedule. Intel converted MUCH older factories over.
