Opinion from another poster >>

Our society has pushed for minimizing the value of the family. An Unborn baby is not human, we put priority even at the elementary level, issues like transgender, gay and bisexuals, passing condoms are part of the curriculum, an under age teenager can get birth control and in some cases an abortion without the parents approval or knowledge.

The word of God is out of the schools and so is respect for our flag. At home violent and sexual movies are available, tv shows for children and preteens portraits parents as stupid including teachers and principals.

Most popular music among young people uses foul language , promotes violence, physical abuse and drug use. Women singers and actresses dress like hookers.

Doctors and educators want hyperactive children to take medication to calm them down.
Psychologists have determined that spanking is child abuse, so parents pretty much don't discipline their children because parents spend so little time with their kids, they feel guilty to do so.
The schools are not allowed to punish children and staying after school as a punishment is unheard of. They tell their kids that they have done a great job when they didn't, everyone gets a trophy even if they lost.

Most of the new generation of men expect the wife to work, so both parents work leaving the child to be raised by daycare, about 50% of families, the parents are divorced, attendance to church of young families have diminished enormously. New technology keeps everyone busy, it is common to see families in a restaurant all of them on their cell phones and not talking to each other, there are not that many families having dinner together, and if they do they are all on the cell phones.

Children are being told they deserve everything, they are not being taught hard work, accountability and that sometimes you don't get what you want.
I can go on, but you get the idea. Society needs to make an enormous effort to change, if they want to change the consequences like the ones today.

Guns were easier to access is past years. Only a religious and moral people can act responsibly with freedom. Our Founders knew that and said it.

Breakdown of the family has been purposeful. The State produced it. The State has been trying to take guns away from law abiding people while allowing gun criminals to go free.

People are responsible for the consequences of their actions; all of them.

Turn in or sell your gun if you don't want one or can't handle the responsibility. I don't care if there is 189 guns for every person in our culture. The 'gun culture' you speak of has nothing to do with law abiding citizens. It is a 'Thug Culture'.

The Second Amendment wasn't meant for criminals. It was meant for moral citizens who have a right to protect themselves, even from an immoral government.

There is plenty of history to show what happens when an immoral government removes the right to own firearms from moral citizens.

Freedom Is A Responsibility. I intend to keep mine.

You are parroting pure nonsense. If you want to hold responsible those who have allowed this type of tragedy let get with it.

Let's start with the film industry, television industry, video game industry, the recording industry and the MSM, All of these promote and glorify disrespect, crime and violence, with and without a gun.

Let's put blame on an ever increasing government that's fails to punish criminals while removing personal responsibility from the parents of children.

In the case you are responding to there was plenty known about an stable type with intent. there was even a FBI report on him, one that was ignored. The FBI dropped the ball big time. there are over 8-Million AR 15's in the USA, we cannot hold all as bad because one nut job does something stupid with it.

Only those without do respect others would wish do hinder or remove the rights of millions do to a few sicko's and criminals. There are about 300-Million legally owned guns in America, Clearly It Is Not The Gun That Is The Problem.
