I appreciate the comments. The spirit of phrase "well regulated militia" addressed the peculiar stability, or lack there of, in the south. There were already hundreds of slave uprising across the south by the time the constitution was ratified. "Well regulated militia"s were slave patrols of which most white men were required to participate in. The second amendment was preserving freedom, but just for one specific population. Although again back to my argument, without the ability to be responsible for slavery, neither white people nor black people actually qualified to be free in a theoretical sense. Different times.

What blows my mind about the " ban AR-15's " chant is every time we hear this sales go off the charts.

Do any of these airheads really believe that banning ANYTHING in this country will all of the sudden make it disappear ?

Anyone even remotely familiar with firearms knows full well that anyone with the will and a 12 gauge shotgun loaded with buckshot can run into any crowded area and kill 17 UNARMED people.
