Hi Snapper - please watch the video series “How to Snakes”. That will provide some insight to the S&L approach.

The more board game cafes there are, the more S&L will be able to distribute to them including their own games once they are out.

Distribution is currently a huge division for them.

And publishing will be soon as well.

They are in the perfect storm both vertically and horizontally integrated in this sector.

Snapper, the way snakes is set up, they are becoming a resource for the industry. Competition may very well turn into more revenue as they can expand their distribution arm and offer their expertise.

Growing the gaming sector overall helps Snakes in multiple ways. That is what is so unique about the position Snakes is in.

Snakes is seen as a top tourist destination when people visit Toronto, per thousands of comments online... and Toronto is the 4th largest city in North American, behind New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.

Snakes fame stretches further than Canada. They are the MODEL for how to operate a game cafe. They have perfected every aspect of it and are close to several game designers, hence exclusivity.

Spot on. I agree. I don't understand why they want to educate the competition. they did it with Meeple Mountain as well. If I was a potential franchisee in Nashville for S&L, I would be pissed. Yeah maybe it helps the distribution side of the biz, but your going to alienate your franchisee base.
